From the lecture hall to the savannah: Master's students on an excursion in South Africa

In the summer semester of 2023, twelve master's students from Osnabrück Biology travelled to South Africa as part of the excursion module in Behavioural Biology. Led by Prof. Dr. Chadi Touma, the group spent two weeks exploring the "Mammal Research Institute" at the University of Pretoria, the "Mogalakwena Research Centre," the "Pilanesberg National Park," and the "Ukutula Conservation Centre".

Prof. Dr. Chadi Touma celebrates award for good academic teaching

Prof. Dr. Chadi Touma was awarded the Hans Mühlenhoff Prize this year. The nominees are proposed by students every year and the winner is then chosen by a jury, also composed of students. Congratulations!

Is it possible to keep gorillas, pandas and co. in an animal-friendly way?

Students of behavioural biology visited two modern zoos in Europe on a study trip to examine animal husbandry concepts with regard to species protection, welfare and education.
